My name is Maddie Gray. I have just turned 11 and I live in Paihia in the beautiful Bay of Islands and am part of an amazing community 💖 and I am doing Shave for a Cure for 2026.
The reason I’m doing
this is an important one.
I am giving up my hair so I can stand in support of those who have no choice in
losing theirs.
It’s an extremely hard thing to face, and sadly Cancer touches us all at some stage.
I currently have an Aunty she’s a wonderful woman but she’s battling Lymphoma, which is a blood cancer.
Cancer NZ is not a government organisation and relies on the generosity of you
and me for fundraising.
Our efforts are essential to help continue to provide and grow needed services.
These
services include supporting patients and their families across the country,
providing information and education sessions, support and funding for research
and raising awareness about the diseases.
A few students from Springbank school and I will be shaving our heads on the
first of May for crazy hair day.
I am trying to raise as much money as I can to help support this amazing organisation. Thank you so much for your kind donations 💖💖
