Hi all! Please consider supporting my Shave for a Cure 🧡
Welcome to my fundraising page! 🙌 I'm joining the movement to unite and raise funds to support Kiwis impacted by blood cancer.
I've wanted to do this for about a year now - it's become something very close to my heart, and I'm thankful to have the opportunity.
Last year my brother Jared was diagnosed with leukaemia. His strength while facing blood cancer is what inspired me to do this. I decided to hold off until he was doing better so I would be able to put more focus and energy into the fundraising efforts when I did. I'm grateful to say that he came out the other side of his treatment and is back into his work as a barber. Jared will shave my head for me, at the end of December.
I'm kicking it off with my own donation, will you join me? Every dollar you give helps power research and deliver crucial care and support for people living with blood cancer in New Zealand.
It means so much to me, and every little bit helps 🥰 Thank you friends

My Updates
3 weeks to go!
Tuesday 9th Dec In just 3 weeks, my brother will shave my head (on the 30th of December). I know the time will go fast!
Diagnosis
Friday 21st Nov When my mum called and told me my brother had leukaemia, the word felt like a death sentence. I paced around the house while I processed this new reality, that this was happening to my brother, that this was real.I'd taken for granted that my big brother would always be around, that my siblings would all be there for each other throughout our lives. Now I had to accept that my brother was about to battle with the biggest threat to his life that any of us had ever faced.
We came very close to losing him in the ICU during his treatment. I know my brother is an absolute champion for fighting that fight, and making it through. I also want to be clear that those who don't survive their battles are no less champions in my eyes. I wasn't in that fight but I saw from the sidelines how scary the monster is that my brother faced. Anyone thrown in that ring has no choice but to face it.
Blood cancer can affect any of us, and there are so many unknowns for those facing it. No one should have to face this without support. Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand relies on donations in order to support patients and fund life saving research. Please help me to give back by donating to my Shave For a Cure
