Blood Cancer NZ understands the importance the community places on the preservation of confidentiality of individuals’ private and/or sensitive information. As a result, Blood Cancer NZ is bound by, and fully committed to supporting, the Privacy Principles as set out in the Privacy Act 2020. This sets out guidelines which control how organisations should treat personal and/or sensitive information they collect, use, handle or store.

Personal information collected from this website, fundraising, patient referrals or as a result of direct mail campaigns*, will be held securely by Blood Cancer NZ (of 6 Claude Road, Epsom, Auckland 1023). The information will only be used for the primary purpose for which it was collected. Blood Cancer NZ will not sell, or exchange, or release, personal information about an individual for commercial gain.

By signing up to receive communications from Blood Cancer NZ, you agree to receive marketing text messages from us at the number provided. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Photographs and videos uploaded to social media channels using an Blood Cancer NZ/Shave hashtag, and/or taken at official Shave for a Cure events, can be used by Blood Cancer NZ without payment in any broadcast, telecast, promotion, advertising or any other way on and off line pursuant to the Privacy Act 2020.

Blood Cancer NZ will use Google Ads Remarketing to assist with the promotion of your individual profile. Display banners will be served throughout the Google Display Network, displaying your first and last name to prospective sponsors who have seen your profile. You can opt out of Google’s use of cookies by visiting Google Ads settings.

In accordance with the legislation, Blood Cancer NZ takes reasonable steps to make sure that the personal information it collects, uses or discloses is accurate, complete and up-to-date. Blood Cancer NZ also takes reasonable steps to protect the personal information it holds from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
