Going Short to Support Kiwis with Blood Cancer 🧡
Cutting My Hair Short to Support Kiwis with Blood Cancer
For the past year and a half, I’ve been intentionally growing my hair out… and now I’m ready to cut it short to support Kiwis affected by blood cancer.
I’m not quite brave enough to shave it all off just yet, but I am willing to say goodbye to my long hair. After growing it for over 1.5 years, it feels like a big sacrifice — but it’s nothing compared to what those facing blood cancer go through every single day.
I’ll also be donating my hair to help create wigs for people in need, so it’s not just fundraising — it’s something tangible I can give as well.
As someone who lives with a blood clotting condition, I understand how challenging and overwhelming blood-related health issues can be. While my journey is different, it has given me a deeper empathy for those facing blood cancer and the physical and emotional battles that come with it.
Every single day, 8 people in New Zealand are diagnosed with blood cancer. That’s 8 families whose lives change in an instant.
I’m taking part in Shave for a Cure to raise funds for research, treatment, and vital support services here in Aotearoa. But I can’t do this alone.
If you’re able to, please consider donating. Every dollar truly makes a difference — and donations over $5 are tax deductible, so you can claim them back.
Your support will mean so much to me.
Thank you for standing with me and helping make a real impact 🧡
