About
Shave for a Cure

More than a hairdo!

Today, 8 Kiwis will be diagnosed with blood cancer. These cancers can strike anyone, at any age, with no warning. Taking part in Shave for a Cure is a powerful way to stand with them and make sure no one has to face blood cancer alone.

Your fundraiser will help fuel life-saving research and deliver crucial care and support for people living with blood cancer in New Zealand. It could be the most important hairdo of your life.

By signing up, you’ll join a massive community of thousands of people all standing together against blood cancer. There’s really nothing else like it!

Who will you shave for?

Rocket

At just 10 years old, Rocket is already braver than most adults.

When she lost her Aunty Kyra to cancer, Rocket set out to make a difference by shaving her head. Her goal? Raise funds for Kiwi blood cancer patients and donate her hair.

With the support of her Uncle Tui, who shaved off his 20-year-old dreadlocks and dyed his hair pink, Rocket raised an amazing $7,735.42!

Aaron

“It’s not about dwelling in the past or thinking ‘why me?’
It’s about – what can I do to get better?”

School teacher Aaron had to explain to his students why his blood cancer meant he wouldn’t be in class for a while. They turned around and helped him raise over $59,000 for Shave for a Cure.
