Last year my mother was one of many people diagnosed with blood cancer. Early January, she will undergo chemotherapy, a side effect of which is loss of her hair. After chemo, she will bereceiving a bone marrow transplant, which entails a long and potentially difficult recovery period.
In solidarity, I will be shaving off my own luscious locks, and sport short hair for the first time in almost 20 years!Â
All proceeds will go towards care for those afflicted with blood cancer. The care and support Mum has received from the staff at Chch Public Hospital has been absolutely incredible, so the least I can do is attempt to help out!Â
