I'm shaving my hair, for my Loved one Dr. Michael Klostermann

Why, as 16 year old girl, am I willing to shave my head?

Hi, I'm Anni.

And cancer? It terrifies me. "Know thy enemy," as Sun Tzu says. And so I know that the word 'Cancer' comes from the Greek 'Karkinos,' meaning crab. Because of the way tumors look like crabs, the rigid blood vessels leading to them are like the horrible red legs. I didn't mind crabs before I knew that. And now? I imagine blood cancer to feel like thousands of tiny crabs in one's bloodstream. And how is shaving my head comparable? I lost my maternal grandfather to these malicious crabs. I want to do my part to prevent and help fight for a cure for all cancers, but every war starts with a battle, and this must be mine. We're tackling blood cancers first. And that requires funds. So every dollar counts.
