Hair Today! Gone May 30th!
Yep. You read that right. On May 30th, I’ll be shaving my head completely bald—not because I’ve lost a bet, joined a monk order, or decided to cosplay as an egg. Nope. I’m doing it to raise $3,000 for leukemia research, and I need your help to get there.
Why?
Because leukemia sucks. It’s a form of blood cancer that affects 1 in 8 Kiwis Daily. That’s way too many of us. Behind every statistic is someone’s parent, sibling, child, mate, or colleague. Research is how we fight back. So, I figured: if scientists can dedicate their lives to curing cancer, I can sacrifice a bit of hair for the cause.
(And I really like my hair. This is a big deal, people.)
Here’s the plan:
- You donate.
- I lose my hair.
- Together, we help fund life-saving research.
- My scalp sees daylight for the first time since birth.
Every dollar helps.
Even the coins hiding under your car seat can go toward something meaningful. And if we hit $3,000? That’s not just money toward better treatments and a potential cure—it’s also my dignity flying off with the last wisps of my hair.
But wait—there’s more:
I’m adding incentives.
- $10 – I’ll shout your name as the clippers buzz.
- $50 – I’ll post a dramatic before-and-after pic worthy of a shampoo commercial.
- $100+ – You get to roast my shiny new dome (gently… I’m fragile now).
- $3,000 total raised – I’ll do a slow-motion, cinematic head shave video with emotional music. Maybe Enya. Maybe Celine.
