Heads up! Here's why I'm doing Shave for a Cure 🧡

This year, I'm joining a movement of thousands to unite and raise funds to support Kiwis impacted by blood cancer.

Some of you will know that I lost my father to a rare form of blood cancer on the 20th of April this year. His final journey was filled with love and support and as much I look upon on it with the deepest sorrow, I'm also so grateful to have experienced it the way that we did. I was a stem cell donor for him which was initially successful but unfortunately he succumbed to an infection during recovery which ended up taking his life.

A big part of his journey was supported by leukaemia & blood cancer New Zealand and the NZ Blood Service. These two organisations are nothing short of amazing and without them Dad would have never been given the chance to go through and fight.

I am still so proud of him and the reason I am shaving for a cure this year is to help provide leukaemia & blood cancer any extra resources they need to further improve information available about blood cancers, further research and increase support.

So, I've chosen the 20th of October as the day I'm going to Shave for a Cure! Why? I think it's fitting as it will six months since he passed and a good way of remembering him.

Every dollar you give helps power research and deliver crucial care and support for people living with blood cancer in New Zealand.

Your support is so important, because each day 8 people in New Zealand are diagnosed with blood cancer.

Every dollar you donate makes a huge difference. You'll also give me a huge confidence boost as I get ready to make a big change with my hair, aka, going from one very hairy individual to the polar opposite...  🥰

Please donate towards this amazing cause if you can. 👉
