Becca's turning 33 and shaving her head!

I've always wanted to shave my head, and I've almost done it pretty much every summer. This year it's finally happening on my Birthday, the 30th of December. 


I'm joining a movement of thousands to unite and raise funds to support Kiwis impacted by blood cancer.

The mana and aroha has been unreal. Something I thought I could do to help others has given me a life changing experience, one that I will never forget. From the bottom of my heart I want to say thank you to everyone. Those who donated, those who shared the posts and reels, and those who supported me through this. But mostly I wanted to thank Shave For A Cure. They are out here doing amazing work for people in their time of need, providing support and support in our community, in every community across the motu. Please whanau, if you have any symptoms you're concerned about, or are persistent, book in and see your GP.

$1000?!?!

I'm absolutely amazed, astounded and humbled. We've now raised $1006! 

My original fundraising goal was $500 and when I first created this page I wasn't sure we'd but that. We did in under 24 hours, and then to have doubled it to $1000 and still exceeded it... While still having 12 days to go. I'm honestly a bit speechless. 

Between now and the big shave I'll still be posting and sending the link out to people every now and then, but I want to take a moment to thank each and every person who has donated. It means so much to me. 

I hope you've all got some good sunglasses 😎 cause you're going to need them 😂

As some of you will know I'm no stranger to changing my hair up, and I've definitely made some decisions 🤣 but I can't say I've ever been as excited as I am now, because...

I'm celebrating my 33rd birthday by shaving my head! 

Every day 8 Kiwis are diagnosed with a form of blood cancer and we all know someone who has been impacted by cancer in one way or another. 

I can only imagine the strength and Mana it would take to overcome something as debilitating. We can only hope that as research improves and technology advances, we are able to make this arduous journey a little easier, and a little less treacherous.

I've always wanted to shave my head, and I could tell you the many excuses I'd tell myself for not doing it.... But none of that matters.

It's a powerful thing to not let anything hold me back and it's a privilege to do this in honour of those who have fought and survived, and to commemorate those who we've lost to the struggle.

And because we've already exceeded my first target, I've added a new one. We have 17 days till the big shave, I reckon we can exceed this one too!
