I'm shaving my hair, for my Loved one Cooper Smith

Heads up! Here's why you should support my Shave for a Cure 🧡

Big news 🙌 I'm joining a movement of thousands to unite and raise funds to support Kiwis impacted by blood cancer.
Here's the thing... I need your help! Will you please donate now so my new hairdo can make the biggest impact possible towards a cure for blood cancers?

Every dollar you give helps power research and deliver crucial care and support for people living with blood cancer in New Zealand.
Your support is so important, because each day 8 people in New Zealand are diagnosed with blood cancer.
Stand in solidarity by donating now. You'll also give me a huge confidence boost as I get ready to make a big change with my hair 🥰
Please give generously. 👉

My Updates

Final update

Thursday 21st May
13 May, Sheiden shaved his head.

16 May, Cooper passed away.

Today we honoured him well as we said our final goodbye.

There is a give a little page set up to support Coopers dad. Visit “Support for Coopz” if you’d like to offer support.

Coopers update

Tuesday 5th May
This is week 4 of Coopers 1st round of treatment. He’s not the energetic, happy go lucky 4 year old boy we all know. Sometimes when we visit, he just lies there and stares at us. The medicine he’s taking has lots of side effects. His heart rate can get really low and he gets sore tummies a lot. Some days he’s upset, other days he can hardly move. His hair has started falling out now. It’s been sad to see just how fast everything happens.

We just want Cooper well enough to come home, because all he wants is to be at home.

In 8 days I’ll be shaving my hair and I’m hoping Cooper will be well enough to shave it for me.  Please support this cause by donating or sharing my page. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.

Why I’m participating in Shave for a Cure

Monday 20th Apr
Cooper was diagnosed with Infant Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a rare form of leukaemia, 3 weeks before his 1st birthday (2022). He relapsed in 2024, ending up in a coma at Starship for 3 weeks.

On 13 April 2026, we found out Cooper has relapsed again. His treatment started the following Thursday, and him and his dad are in the CHOC ward at Christchurch Hospital.

We don’t know when he will come home, all we know is he’s got a journey ahead of him. I just want Cooper to come home, cancer free.
