Round 2 Shave for cure - lesssshggoooooo

Talofa lava team, I'm back on the waka to raise funds to support Kiwis impacted by blood cancer.

Every day in Aotearoa, 8 people are diagnosed with blood cancer!  That's a lot and I know many of you will know a loved one impacted too.  I too, lost my father 3 years ago following a long battle with Lymphoma.

I will need your help!  Every dollar you give helps power research and deliver crucial care and support for people living with blood cancer in New Zealand.

Stand in solidarity by donating now. You'll also give me a huge confidence boost as I get ready to make a big change with my hair 🥰
Please give generously. 👉

My Updates

My Why

Sunday 28th Sep
In 2019 my father was diagnosed with Lymphoma.  He went through Chemo and beat it down the first time.
He was hilariously funny about public spaces and we have great photos of wearing some great gas-mask looking masks during the height of COVID.

But all for good reason.   Lymphoma impacted his white blood cells, chemo weakend his body and left him vulnerable to every day infections.

Lymphoma came back in 2021.  He went through another course of Chemo, did well to keep the Lymphoma at bay.  But eventually his immune system couldn't keep up with the infections he was catching.

In 2022 after a series of hospital stays, he passed 2 days before his 70th birthday.

My wife's father has recently been diagnosed with stage 3 Multiple Myeloma, another form of blood cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow.  Another journey we will go through with faith, hope and love.

Family is my why.

With 8 Kiwis diagnosed with a form of blood cancer every day, I know the impacts are felt by many.  Every little donation is much appreciated and together goes a long way towards helping deliver care for people living with Blood cancer and powering research in this space.

Thank you for consideration!

Why $84!?

Tuesday 23rd Sep
Well I'm a bit late to the party this year.  Just managing to get my page sorted and there's only two weeks to go until the day it all goes!

I've kick-started the donations by putting in $84.  Why $84!?  For the cause, $84 pays for three patient treatments.

But for me, I decided to give up buying coffee daily.  So 14 days @ $6/coffee landed me at $84.  Bit of an average spend on coffee as it can depend where I buy.  but that's the reason !

So......if you're struggling to think of how much to give, then why not spend the money you would be spending on coffee this week on this great cause instead!!

a little les buying coffee for me and a little more using the coffee machine at work :)

Thanks for considering!
