My Updates

My Reason
Tuesday 1st JulMy Reason-
This year, Iâve decided to take part in Shave for a Cure, and I wanted to share the story behind why this means so much to me and my family.
Last year, our lives changed forever when my mum was diagnosed with cancer.
It shook our entire family to the core. Watching someone you love so much go through something so serious, so suddenlyâitâs hard to put into words just how much it affects you. Cancer wasnât a stranger to our family; it has run through generations of my relatives. But when it hit our home, it became deeply personal.
Thankfully, through the strength of my mum and the incredible care from hospital staff, she was able to overcome it. We are so grateful every single day. But the journey wasn't easy. It showed meâfirsthandâhow devastating cancer can be. Not just physically, but mentally, emotionally. It doesnât just impact the person who is sickâit impacts everyone around them.
Thatâs why Iâm doing this.
By shaving my head, I want to raise funds for others who are facing this battle right now. Families just like mine. I want to help ease that burdenâwhether itâs through funding treatment, supporting mental health, or helping cover the hidden costs that come with cancer.
This isnât just about fundraising. Itâs about raising awareness. Cancer is not something that waits for the âright time.â It can hit anyone, at any time. And I want to use this moment to help more people realise thatâand maybe even encourage someone to go get that check-up theyâve been putting off.
To everyone who donates: thank you. Your generosity brings me closer to my goal and helps make a real difference for people who need it most.
And to those who share my posts and help spread the message: thank you, too. Awareness saves lives. Youâre part of something bigger than you know.
Together, we can support those in the fight, honour those weâve lost, and work toward a future where no one has to go through this alone.
Thanks, all, TylerÂ
